If my house got washed away along with the food, survival gear, and guns, it wouldn’t matter as long as I was with my dad. He could have a cabin built, a fire going, and a hog cooking in the ground before the day was through. I wish I could clone my Dad and share him with the world, but since I can’t, I found the next best thing… online Prepper Dads. I may sound a little creepy checking out all these guy blogs at 3 am, but they really know their stuff and have contributed a lot to the preparedness community. I appreciate their perspective on things, because often times they remind me of my Dad. So check-out my Top 10 Prepper Dad’s and maybe even adopt a few to help you with your preps! Who knows, they might just change your life…
Top 10 Prepper Dads:
1- Todd @ Survival Sherpa
"Helping each other on the climb to self-reliance and preparedness…the Survival Sherpa way…One step at a time"
Todd is one of the most down to earth prepper bloggers out there. He offers some of the most practical advice that can help anyone, even if they’re just contemplating about becoming more self-reliant. I hope you’ll take a minute to get to know him better and read-up on all the great things he is doing.
2- M.D. Creekmore @ The Survivalist Blog
"Emergency preparedness & survival strategies for families, preppers and survivalists."
This guy not only talks the talk, but walks the walk, you just have to read his bio to fully appreciate his experience and understanding of the prepping world.
3- Damian @ reThink Survival
"Suburban family preparedness for 99% of what life can throw at you!"
Damian is a family man truly looking out for the average family trying to navigate through all the survival information out there. His website has tons of great content updated daily, hundreds of videos, and he is constantly linking up to informative articles.
4- Todd @ Prepper Website
"Preparedness • Survival • Alternative News"
Not only does Todd have one of the most popular prepper websites on the planet, but he has a sense of humor to go with it. I was busting up laughing when I read his bio about starting up a Houston Zombie website :)
5- Dan @ The Daily Prep
"A crisis can bring out the hero in someone."
For the visual learner, Dan is constantly uploading videos to his website that help with all areas of preparedness. Make sure to take a look at His Journey too, because it may spark some ideas for yours!
6- Chris @ Prepared Christian
"Being prudent in today's world"
I appreciate the approach Chris takes with realizing that “Christ needs to be first and faith shouldn’t take a back seat to preparedness.” He strives to constantly update his blog with a Christian world-view on preparedness related topics.
7- P. Henry @ The Prepper Journal
"Honor, God & Country!"
I absolutely love everything about this blog – the layout, content, pictures, etc. I don’t know how he comes up with so many great articles, but it’s something I look forward to everyday! He just started a Prepper 101 series in case you are just beginning!
8- John @ Geek Prepper
"Survival skills for everyone."
I think there is a inner geek in all of us, and if there isn’t, people will think you are one as soon as you mention you’re a prepper ;) John helps us to cope with our geeky side by keeping us informed of all the products and information we need to know. Don’t worry, it’s ok to be a geek sometimes, especially when you’re getting prepared.
9- David @ LDS Prepper
"If U prepare U will not fear."
Probably the best prepper You Tube channel I’ve found so far. I thought I was a detailed person, but David puts me to shame. Each video has a supplies list and goes over exactly what needs to be done! Whether it’s building a garden, taking care of bees, reviewing products, or planning for a disaster, he has you covered.
10- Dr. Hubbard @ The Survival Doctor
"What to do when help is NOT on the way."
What would you do if help was NOT on the way? Dr. Hubbard goes over just that in his blog and much more! He’s been a family doctor for over 30 years and has worked in many different settings giving him the experience to help prepare you for a medical emergency.

Is there a Prepper Dad that you recommend?
[signoff]
Hi Jamie, your father sounds like an amazing man ~ and much like my daddy! How fortunate are we to have been influenced/raised by self-reliant men!?
Now for the blushing part… I’m humbled and amazed to even be mentioned here with this fine list of men, all of whom I hold in high regard.
Thank you, Jamie! You’ve done it again. My day has been made! :)
Hey, thanks for the kudos… it’s much appreciated!
Thanks for the love Jamie!
This is definitely good company to be among. Good friends with Todd @ Prepper Website and exchange messages with LDS Prepper every month or 2. Great guys with a lot to offer! Love to help however I can–let me know!
Keep on crankin!
;-)
Jamie,
Thank you very much for including me in this list. I am very honored and humbled as well as the others I am sure to even be considered in such esteemed company.
You have such a wonderful site as well and I wish you continued success. Thanks for your friendship.
Pat
Thought I made the list for a second then I realized it was Chris…good guy with a cool blog name ;-)
Wow, very similar names! I loved your bio, can totally relate to the “total time waster.” I enjoyed reading up on your 30 days of Survival! Keep on clinging to your God & Guns, wish more people did the same!
I was really surprised that Jack Spirko from The Survival Podcast was not included. Just wondering if he was considered, since he would definitely be on my list.
I appreciate you mentioning him, I had a couple of readers point out that Jack was one of their favorites! I totall missed him somehow, but have been enjoying listening to his podcasts and seeing why he is on everyone’s list! What would you rank him in your list of favorite preppers?
M.D. Creekmore doesn’t have any kids that I’m aware of.
They don’t necessarily have to have kids. I was just pointing out if some people need extra help with their preps or want a guys view on prepping, these are some I recommend.
