My dream is to eat super healthy, have my own garden, work-out everyday….. ok you get the point. The problem is I have 4 kids that can’t lift a spoon without bribing them with candy and a husband that forces me to watch Duck Dynasty every night, leaving me with only enough time to eat a big bowl of ice cream before bed.
Today my dream came true though, at least the eating healthier part. Last week I signed up for a Bountiful Basket not knowing what to expect and for $15 I got all of this (picture above)!!! It was so nice getting to show up, load up a huge basket of veggies and fruit and go! My kids didn’t even have enough time to start throwing apples at each other or make a scene over who gets to push the button to open the door (that was the next store).
The way they keep their prices so low is because it’s strictly volunteer based, so if you’re a mooch (not sure how to spell that) this is NOT for you. Everyone takes their turn volunteering for an hour every few weeks, and to be even more helpful you can sign-up to be one of the coordinators. If you don’t have one of these food co-ops in your area all it takes is one person – YOU – to make it happen.
One of the other great things about Bountiful Baskets is it has add-ons, so of course I couldn’t resist. I ended up getting the Italian Veggie Pack pictured above, and the Granola below. My husband just got home from camp and asked if the refrigerator ate our neighbors garden. I love it!
Half the battle to eating healthier is just having healthier options right at your fingertips. I am a little embarrassed to say I don’t know what some of these vegetables are or how to cook them, so there will be some experimenting around here this week, but one thing I know for sure is the granola will go first! It tastes amazing, not to mention it’s mixed with macadamia nuts which are my favorite!

I love Bountiful Baskets too and it makes it a game for me to figure out how to eat all we get. I am bummed it only comes every other week in our area. Did you see all my pickles on facebook, it is from cucumbers from BB.

I know! I just had to figure out how to make brussel sprouts today. I think that is the first time I ever had them. My neighbor just came over and had to help me figure out what some of the veggies even were :)

We have been doing bountiful baskets here and it is interesting figuring out everything and using it. We loved the brussel sprouts and had never had them before.
